The Department of Neurosurgery is one of the major departments supporting the trauma center. This medical specialty focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders affecting any part of the nervous system, including the brain and spinal cord. At SGITO, doctors provide the most current management and surgical techniques, including minimally invasive options, to hundreds of patients.

    • Neuro-oncology: Deals with benign and malignant tumors.
    • Vascular Neurosurgery: Deals with disorders of the cerebral vasculature.
    • Spinal Neurosurgery: A subspecialty that deals with disorders affecting the spine and spinal cord, including tumors, degenerative spine disease, and congenital disorders.

The department is well-equipped with the necessary equipment to perform complex surgeries involving the brain and spine, including a surgical microscope, advanced drill system, and MEP/SSEP. The following services are provided:

He has 9 years of experience in neurosurgery. He completed his M.Ch in Neurosurgery from JIPMER. He has a special interest in neuro-oncology and spinal neurosurgery.
