Nursing Services

The Nursing staff comprises of trained nurses and nursing supervisors with experience in critical and trauma care and are inculcated with a sense of caring for the patient. A charge is levied for the nursing service which depends on the category of ward/room occupied by the patient.

Nursing superintendent
	Smt. B . S Nagarathna ,Bsc Nursing She has 29 years of experience. She heads a well trained team of dedicated Nursing Staff, Paramedical Staff which forms the back bone of the institute. Prompt service and " Patient care with a smile" is the motto of the Nursing Staff.

Philosophy of Nursing

Nursing contributes to the health services in a vital and significant way in the health care delivery system. It recognises national health goals and is committed to participate in the implementation of national health policies and programmes. It aims at identifying health needs of the people, planning and providing quality care in collaboration with other health professionals and community groups. Comprehensive and holistic component of the nursing care is based on nursing theories on nursing practice. Provide adequate facilities will facilitate creative thinking and self directed learning for the students and faculty. Developing critical thinking skills competencies and standards required for practice of professional nursing and midwifery among nursing students to provide qualitative care to the clients. Professional education in nursing is a continuous process based on concepts of nursing practice which is promoted by providing education to the nurses at various levels. Nursing deals with preventive promotive and curative services to the people across their lifespan in variety of health care settings. Promoting / Developing a scientific research attitude will help in meeting the issues and challenges confronting the nursing profession today. Preparing efficient nurse leaders, educators and practitioners, through higher education helps in promoting quality in nursing. Promotes personal and professional growth of students and faculty. The teachers have the responsibility to be role models and create learning environment that enables students to acquire inquiry down, self directed learning, and foster in an attitude of life long learning. Under graduate nursing education program, preparing it's students to become exemplary citizen by adhering to code of ethics and professional conduct at all times in fulfilling personal, social and professional obligations so as to respond to national aspirations. To meet the needs of the society.

Patient Attendants

Patients in special ward are permitted to have one attendant with a pass. The pass is provided at the time of admission. ‘SECURITY’ will check all entry points and at random to control unauthorized persons from loitering in the hospital. Please co-operate with them.
Patients in General and semi special ward are permitted to have one attendant with a pass only during the visiting hours.
If a patient is transferred to the Intensive Care Unit, the room/bed occupied has to be vacated and cannot be occupied by Attendants.

Linen

It is mandatory that patients wear hospital uniforms.

The hospital provides washed and clean linen to all patients.
All patients are provided with bed and bath linen and we encourage the patient attendants to use the linen which we provide. Please avoid bringing outside linen, as this may cause infection.
For any additional requirement of linen, you may contact our nursing staff in the ward.

Housekeeping:

The housekeeping department will be responsible for the cleanliness in the hospital and the hospital premises. Patient’s co-operation is requested to ensure that the hospital cleanliness is maintained properly.
